Join with Oxfam to provide clean water to families in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Almost 900 million people in the world do not have access to clean, safe drinking water, while 2.6 billion live without basic sanitation. Across the globe, more than 6,000 people die each day from diseases caused by dirty water — two-thirds are children. (World Health Organisation).
One of Africa’s largest countries, with a population of 65 million, DRC is ranked in the bottom 10 countries worldwide on the Human Development Index, despite its vast potential wealth. Years of conflict have created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. While DR Congo is a country abundantly rich in resources, it has struggled to realize its full potential since independence.
Oxfam is providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in some of the world’s poorest countries. In fact, it is one of the things we do best — our solutions are saving lives. They work with communities that are hosting tens of thousands of displaced people in the east of the country. Their focus is on providing clean water and sanitation facilities to minimize the spread of disease.

How you can help
The armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has forced thousands of people to flee for their lives. Access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation is vital. It can save lives, keep families safe and give kids a chance for a happy, healthy future.
$60 can provide a family with a hygiene kit containing soap, towels and basic toiletries, helping to prevent the spread of disease and save lives.
$120 could help purchase a tap stand, giving clean and safe drinking water to up to 3,000 people in communities like Buporo camp.
$300 could go towards purchasing locally-made toilets that can be used by 100 people.
