Help stop hunger in Mozambique

In a world that can produce enough food for everyone to eat, hunger and malnutrition remain the number one risk to health worldwide, especially for those who are already fighting poverty. Around the world, close to 1 billion men, women and children will, tonight, go to bed hungry.

Hunger is not a natural phenomenon. It is a man-made tragedy. People do not go hungry because there is not enough food to eat. They go hungry because the system that delivers food from the fields to our plates is broken. And now in this new age of crisis — with increasingly severe and extreme weather and dwindling natural resources – feeding the world will get harder still.

Mozambique is one of the most disaster prone countries in the world. Regular droughts cause life-threatening hunger for the many people relying on crops to survive. Families living in poverty rely on the rains to come following the annual dry season. Without it, their crops will fail. When food reserves run out, families face the “hungry season” head-on.

By introducing the tools and skills they need to grow a garden in the desert, you could help create a different future – one where everyone has enough to eat.

Your donation can make all the difference.
